    Angry Valid URL

I just switched to CentOS and am having a bit of trouble I've already installed and got squeezecenter working for windows so I moved on to da new OS. Ive configured my Dynamic Ip adress and got the url Http://Boyoderver.doesntexist.org/. so I went to iTunes and typed in both boyoserver.doesntexist.org:9000/stream.mp3 and http://boyoserver.doesntexist.org however it wont connect. I have already open ports in my firewall and (in my wireless router) forwarded port 9000 to the CentOS computer or 192.168.1.105. So... can anyone tell me what idiot buttem i need to press to make everything work?

Your SqueezeCenter installation is certainly visible on http://boyoserver.doesntexist.org:9000/ so I would password protect it if I were you, otherwise people in the outside world can mess with your playlists (and your head).

Have you opened port 3483? I can't remember but I think you need both udp/3483 and tcp/3483.

Oh, yes it is. Sorry Mick, not my taste of music!

I quickly have to go home and protect my own account! Horrific!
CD > Ripstation Micro > QNAP209 (2*1TB) > SC7.2.1 > Allnet Powerline Ethernet > SB Duet/iPeng on IPod Touch/Linn Numerik > Triodesound Jona or Sonus Faber Musica > Lowther Fidelio (PM6A) or DIY with "Goodmans Twinaxiom 8" both supported by an ATS bass corner horn > ears > brain > mood > feet (or not)

I don't think you need these port open for stream.mp3 only if you are using a SB player.

Have you installed lame ? it is needed for stream.mp3.

You should test stream.mp3 on your local LAN and make it work in the local LAN first before opening the SC up to the world.

The dyndns hostname might not resolve correctly on your internal network.
Try to access the stream url with the server's IP instead.
    http://<server_ip>:9000/stream.mp3

You don't need to open any ports in your router if you only want to connect from your own network.
