A couple of questions RE: Squeezebox Classic + Remote vs Duet

I am planning on adding a Squeezebox device to my system. I will be using the device to feed digital to an outboard DAC.

Beside the display of the Squeezebox Classic, what are the benefits over the Duet or visa-versa??

Can I use the ITunes interface with the remote controller?

Thanks for taking the time to read my post!

With Duet you get the Controller which will work with all Squeezebox devices if you later decide to add a Boom or Classic. Some people like the display on the Classic, others prefer looking at the Controller to see what's playing. There should be no audible difference in the Classic's output to your DAC vs. the Duet's output to same DAC. You can often find used Classics on sites like Audiogon for cheap $$$. You can use iTunes with any SB device, but the interface is not the iTunes interface, it is the SqueezeCenter interface.

FWIW, I find it faster to find music using the IR remote than the controller.
Another thing I find frustrating with the controller is that it's not always immediately operational : it goes to sleep to save its battery when you don't use for ten minutes or so, and it may take up to 1 minute to get it up and running again.
But the controller's fine though, since you don't need to be in sight of the Squeezebox to control it.
