    Where did you hear this?

The backlit infrared remote, available on the slimdevices.com website, will work fine.

If you're outside of North America, availability might be a problem, but they're still produced.
Current: SB2, Transporter, Boom (PQP3 - late beta, PQP1 - early beta), SBC (early beta), Squeezebox Radio (PB1 - early beta), Squeezebox Touch (late beta)
    Sold: SB3, Duet

    remote control for squeeze box

I'm after the hand held devices used to select which track is playing etc, is this what you mean?

I'm based in England. When I rang logitech to try and order a new one I was told they aren't being made anymore and I would need to buy a whole new squeeze box!

    Any ideas?

if you mean this, it's still available, at least in the US.

If you mean that it's easily available anywhere.

Alternatively, many universal remotes will work fine. The Harmony's (for example) have all the SB codes available.

Yeah, I use a harmony 555 without any trouble, except that it feels a little sluggish : there's a slight delay with the Harmony which does not happen with the original remote (not really a problem, but it's noticeable).

You should be able to improve that by tweaking the timings in the Harmony setup, it's default is quite slow (therefore reliable).
