I've been enjoying using Triode's excellent BBC iPlayer plugin for some time now, and, like Alien BBC before it, it has become for me one of the key reasons for owning a Squeezebox.
So I wanted to find a link to direct an SB-owning friend to its usefulness. But I found to my surprise that it is not listed in the Audio section of the Squeezebox Plugins page at
http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/PluginsAudio
The only place to 'find' it, it seems, is the post on this forum, at
http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=53229
To me this seems like selling this wonderfully useful plugin short.

The iPlayer and AlienBBC plugins are both available through the extension downloader that was introduced in 7.3.
Go to Settings -> Advanced -> Extension Downloader
Tick the extensions you want to install and click apply.

Ah yes, I was forgetting The New Way. I am but a humble 7.2.1 user - like many others, I suspect. Just figured it was made a little difficult for us to find out about something very good.

Or you could google it, it's quicker than trying to navigate the horribly slow wiki.

You can also google the wiki:
site:wiki.slimdevices.com "alien bbc"
Faster search and better results than using the wiki search box.

Thanks for underlining it so succinctly, bonze: that's the point I was trying to make. Triode's work deserves better visibility - that's all.

The Wiki is editable by anyone that creates an account. That is the whole point of wikis. I'm sure it was removed for perfectly valid reasons.... either that or a mistake. You could send a PM to Triode to see what he says or just add it back into the wiki yourself.

Please add it to the wiki - I am afraid I am considering 7.3 and later and so only really thinking of Extension Downloader.

I just had a look at editing the wiki. Blimey. Very complicated. Doesn't exactly invite you in, does it?
Anyway, according to the editing FAQ, a page is editable if it has an edit tab at the top. Can't see such a thing on the Plugins/Audio page.
And there was I simply trying to do a good deed. Shall I give up?
