Hi,
this may seem very basic but I just can't find how to create a playlist in SBC other than importing existing ones from WMP, iTunes, etc. The Duet usezr guide does not say anything about this.
I just want to create a new one directly from SBC.
Same question from the Controller: when I hit the ADD button it says that it is added to the playlist (which one ???, there are none) and then when I go to the main menu there are no playlists.
Thanks

When you press Add the track/album is added to the Now Playing playlist, which you can get to by going to Now Playing on the main menu and then pressing the middle button on the wheel. If you scroll to the bottom you can then save that playlist with a name. Page 20/21 of the manual also explains this.

I know this is probably a real simple problem to fix, but I am having the same issue. I tried unsuccessfully to search for a solution. Can one of you kind souls please help a noob out (or point me in the right direction)? Thanks all.

Which problem, specifically? Something to do with Rhapsody, or saving playlists, or both?

Saving Playlists
Saving and creating playlists is a black art with the SBC and SC for that matter. Overly complex for such a simple and fundamental task.
In other words, the Duet system is useless when it comes to creating/maintaining playlists...

Rhapsody Playlists
I'm not certain that I'm clear what your question is but I'll give it a go anyway. I was having difficulty accessing my personal Rhapsody playlists from my controller so here's what I eventually wound up doing:
I logged into my Rhapsody account from my computer. Once there I searched for tracks, artists, albums, etc. as I would normally. When I found a track I liked I clicked on the "+" sign to the left of the title and clicked on "[New Playlist]". I gave the playlist a name and repeated the process ad infinitum.
In about 10-15 minutes time the newly created playlist appeared on my Duet controller. Now, here's the unintuitive part. In order to access the new playlist from my controller, I had to navigate as follows: Homepage> Music Services> Rhapsody> My Library> Playlists. (NOTE: You do NOT go directly to "Playlists" from the "Rhapsody" page although that seems logical - you must first navigate to "My Library")
As a side note, I also have a Sonos system from which I've created many Rhapsody playlists. None of them are available from my Duet controller. I suspect that may be because the Sonos is saving the playlist information locally and not on Rhapsody's servers.

I do not have Rhapsody but Napster and I can simply add (+) a track to the Squeezebox Now Playing playlist. I guess the people do mix some kind of playlist function within Rhapsody and the playlist function of the Squeezebox.
Search and select a track in Rhapsody and press the add (+) button on your controller to add it to the Now Playing playlist which is the temporary playlist of the Squeezebox. You can add other Rhapsody tracks, local tracks or also tracks from other services to this playlist by simply selecting the title and pressing the add button.
Now go the the Now Playing playlist scroll down within and save it.
It's not Woodoo or black art.2 * Classic, 2 * Boom, SC 7.7.2 auf GigaByte STA/C mit VIA C7 1GHz, 1GB RAM, 250 GB 2,5" HD, Ubuntu Desktop 8.04 LTS, controlled by Squeeze Commander on Motorola Xoom, CD -> FLAC = dbpoweramp, Mix MusicIP, Router AVM Fritz 3270
