    Web Interface Startup Problem 7.3.1 / FF 3.0.5 / Mac OS X 10.4.11

    Squeezecenter 7.3.1 / FF 3.0.5 / Mac OS X 10.4.11

    Did a few updates yesterday as well as a SC 7.2 -> SC 7.3.1 update.

    Now FF is not prepared to load http://localhost:9000/ properly, but Safari is.

    Any ideas?

    More details follow ...

    Thanks in advance for any help.

    I use Firebug, and I see 6 load errors for http://localhost:9000/

    SqueezeJS is not defined
    SqueezeJS.Strings['loading'] = "Loading...";
    localhost:9000 (line 263)

    Ext is not defined
    Ext.onReady(Main.init, Main, true);
    localhost:9000 (line 217)

    ----------------------------------------------------------------

    Here's what I did:

    FF 3.0.1 -> FF 3.0.5 - Then FF restart
    Security Update 2008-008 (Intel) V1.0 - delayed system reboot
    SqueezeCenter 7.2 -> 7.3.1 - In FF 3.0.5, I see only "Loading SqueezeCenter..."

    I reboot, and still cannot load SC web i/f in FF.

    But I _can_ load it OK in Safari.

    So I did a clean install as described here:

    http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.ph..._Mac_OS_10.4.x

    But still no joy with FF, although Safari is OK.

    After indexing my music, I can browse and play no problem from my SB via the remote control.

    Please wipe FF's cache and force a full reload of the page (ctrl-F5 or
    something)

    I quit FF and removed my profile's Cache folder completely.
    Started FF
    Loaded localhost:9000 - same problem
    Pressed F5 - same problem
    Pressed CMD + R - same problem
    Pressed CMD + SHIFT + R - same problem

    :-(

    I upgraded to 7.3.1 today. My problem is more fundamental. The service fails on startup. In all the years I've been running Slimserver/Squeezecenter, I've never seen this happen before. Fails on startup, no error.

    I kept the old settings and logs (since it was a minor upgrade +0.0.1 only, but I'm going to go back, uninstall, remove all the old settings files (what a pain), reinstall. Back in half an hour.

    Second time's a charm, I guess. I had to tell it all over again where my music is (not where it defaults to) and so forth. It's been a while since I needed to do that.

    I'm having a similar problem to the opening poster but I'm using Windows Vista32 and Internet Explorer.

    My Transporter can connect to Squeezecentre OK.
    My client PC can connect to Squeezecentre OK.
    My server PC (i.e. the one running Squeezecentre) will not load the interface in Internet Explorer.

    I have tried http://localhost:9000/, http://127.0.0.1:9000, http://<computer name>:9000/. None of these work. If I find the IP address of the server and use http://<IP address>:9000/ then the interface loads.

    I'm sure it used to work but it's been broken for a while now so I'm not fully sure of that.

    I'm using Windows Firewall but surely that shouldn't interfere with a local connection.

    I am at a loss to explain this one.

    I'm using Squeezecentre 7.1

    I couldn't get 7.2 to work so went back to 7.1. I and am not brave enough to try 7.3 as 7.1 is working just fine except for the above glitch which may of course be nothing to do with Squeezecentre anyway (i.e it's yet another Vista 'feature' - I am so sick of Vista).
