Just installed Squeezecenter stable on a clean debian box. I'm seeing the following message in my server.log file:
[09-01-01 15:30:28.8880] Slim::Networking::IO::Select::select (271) Error: Select task failed: Not a reference at /usr/share/perl5/Slim/Utils/Prefs.pm line 342.
I am able to connect to http://server:9000 via a browser but connecting to http://server:9000/stream.mp3 hangs and locks up the server as well - I have to restart it before I can connect to the GUI again.
I've also tried the test version - no difference.

Hello Dave,
So was this an upgrade or downgrade. I've just installed the stable version and it reads "Version: 7.3.1 - 24372 @ Fri Dec 19 17:30:03 PST 2008" and you described perfectly the problem I have been seeing.

This issue should be fixed in tomorrow's nightly build. If you can't wait, please apply the following patch:
http://svn.slimdevices.com/7.3/trunk...&pathrev=24657

The link to the patch has probably been changed after the last post. This is the link that currently works: http://svn.slimdevices.com/slim/7.3/trunk/server/Slim/Utils/Prefs.pm?r1=24310&r2=24657 (and the patch itself works too, thanks!)
