Jem does a killer version of "Maybe I'm Amazed." My band covered her cover.

    Elbow.
Had never heard of them until this year when a friend played "Seldom Seen Kid" for me. I now own all of their albums and am hunting down b-sides, compilations, etc.

I've discovered a ton of new (to me) music I really like since purchasing my first "slim device" and especially in 2008 when I got a few more units and really started using them.

In no particular order (mostly from Radio Paradise & a Pandora station I created), with so much good stuff to discover on the internet I almost never listen to my local library..

Elbow from the above post is one

    God is an Astronaut
    Morcheeba
    Neko Case
    Thievery Corporation
    Zero 7
    Azam Ali (and Niyaz)
    Massive Attack & Tricky
Tom Waits (some of his stuff - some is a bit off for my tastes)
    Amon Tobin
    Calexico

More I'm not currently thinking of. I can listen to RP or Pandora for hours at a time....

Like others I could go on about this, but just of the top of my head... well I filtered some of the very good albums/artists already mentioned as some are already repeated several times.

    The Gaslight Anthem (Classic Rock)
    Okkervil River (Indie Pop/Rock)
    Marnie Stern (Math-rock)
    Conor Oberst (Indie Pop)
    Loudon Wainwright III (Folk)
Fela Kuti (Hard to say... afro/jazz???)
    Shakira (Latin Pop)

    I think I'll stop here.
