Hi, apologies if this sounds crazy but I've had a thought (I know, dangerous!)...
The customise controller plugin allows you to point to the URL of an image that can be used as wallpaper for the SBC. Now, if that URL was some sort of active page, could it be possible for the URL to serve up images thus turning the controller into a (basic) photo slideshow viewer?

Have you played with the built-in Flickr support to see if it meets your needs?

I wish the Customize Controller plugin could be pointed to a folder and automatically pick up whatever was in that folder. I like playing around with different wallpapers and entering the path for each image separately is rather tedious.

Customize Controller - Blue Sky Thinking!

Hehe... just last night when I went to bed I was thinking about an
applet/screensaver which would allow to browse my photo folders on the SC
machine, display them as slide shows etc. :-). I'm too lazy to upload my
collection to Flickr just to see them on the Controller...

Michael...
I'd second that. It would be best if you could choose your folder so it wouldn't be limited to a SC folder, but any folder on the PC.
I'm not sure this would work as Sue suggested because I'm not sure you'd want your background constantly changing, but as a now playing screen saver, it would be cool.
I do agree with Sue it would be a little easier if you could enter multiple paths to images at the same time for the background, but I only use 5 different backgrounds so the work wasn't really that tedious for me. BTW, anyone else ever have their scroll bar on that screen disappear? ABout half the time when I go to the "Customize Controller" page, the scroll bar on the right hand side is missing and I can't scroll down to all of my images. I have a bug in, but I've never seen anyone else describe the issue.

Oh no, I wouldn't want my background constantly changing either. I meant have any images in the specified folder shown in the wallpaper list so you could select them the same as you do now. But you could change the wallpaper choices just by moving files in or out of the folder instead of going to SC settings and putting in each path.
Having an easier photo slide show option would be good too. I dropped Flikr as soon as PicasaWeb opened up, but using local-network files would be even better.
I don't recall ever having the scroll bar problem, Howard. Not in that screen anyway.Sue
