Hey folks,
I installed 7.3 last night and promptly went to see if my #1 bug (7992) had gotten any better. Well, it definitely changed, but not for the better. Way worse in fact. When browsing a genre which contains a lot of artists (rock for me) on the controller (not the web interface) with 'group compilation albums together' enabled, mysqld will use 100% of the CPU, rendering squeezecenter unusable (players cannot even connect). Unlike with 7.2.1 where this would last only a minute or two, with 7.3, it went on for a half hour before I killed squeezecenter. Upon restarting, mysqld again jumped to 100% and stayed there! I finally was able to "fix" the problem by blowing away the cache and restarting, allowing squeezecenter to rescan my entire music library.
Something has changed in 7.3, and not for the better as far as this bug is concerned (and being my #1 issue, I'm tempted to revert to 7.2.1). Gordon, have you noticed any similar change? I know you also suffer from 7992.
Here's a link to the bug in question:

Hope everyone has a good weekend. Cheers,
John
