Duet will not scan my music files.

I am new to music streaming and just bought a Duet this week. After having problems getting my receiver to work I am up and running. Thanks to LaRon with Slimdevices for his time and patience.

The only issue I have now is that when I scan my music files they do not show up in Squeeze Center. I have the proper files in the drop down window but when scan the files I show 0 songs, 0 albums and 0 artists. My firewall is disabled and other than that I have no idea what it could be.

The biggest reason I bought the Duet is to put all my CDs (about 300) on my computer and play them with the Duet. If I can not access my CDs having the Duet then it will go back. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Did you put the right folder/files into SC to be scanned? Which OS do you use-Linux / Win?
    Yellow Dog Linux-PS3 / PCLinuxOS / Ubuntu Netbook Remix / Mandriva /Sabayon

    coffeetime,

Thanks for your suggestion. I have all my music scanned! I renamed the file where my music was and it worked. The original had Corel attached to it for some reason.

Could you please elaborate?!? What was attached to your music file?

    Hi Michael,

First off I have to be clear that I am not very computer savvy. What happened was for some reason a Corel program ended up in my original music file. How this happened I do not have a clue. With the help of a friend he suggested I create another music file which I did.

Before I rescanned the new folder I looked at the full text in the drop down window of the Music Folder. As I scrolled down past "My Music Files" I could see Corel was attached at the end of the text. I deleted that so the drop down window was blank and rescanned for new music. Thats when new text came up without the Corel attachment and all my ripped music was scanned.

Unfortunately there are major power outages in my area (So. Maine) and I have no internet (I am in work) so I can not play with the Duet. Oh well I have a generator so we have water, heat and can watch movies. So far I am very happy with the Duet and I am enjoying Rhapsody very much. I have been searching for a lot of music (mostly classic rock) and have found a lot of music I have not listened to in years. I will be subscribing to Rhapsody for sure.
