I just received a Squeezebox Duet and installed it really easily. It's connected to SqueezeNetwork and it works a charm.
I also have a Buffalo Linkstation LS-HG NAS which I have installed FreeLink on it, so I have full access to it.
I installed SqueezeCenter 6.3.0 according to the instructions at http://buffalo.nas-central.org/index...om_SlimDevices
It installed successfully and I can access SlimServer web interface by connecting to http://nas-address:9000. I can also stream to Windows Media Player, if I put in the stream URL.
However, on my Squeezebox Duet controller, I enter the IP address for my NAS device, but it does not allow me to select it. It just insists on staying connected to the SqueezeNetwork.
Any thoughts?
Thanks in advance.

The Squeezebox Duet requires SqueezeCenter 7.0 or higher.

The SqueezeCenter 7.x installation process for LinkStation is much more involved than installing 6.x. I suspect that SC7 would run really really slow even if you manage to get it loaded on the old LinkStation HG hardware. If you step up to LinkStation Pro or LinkStation Live hardware, this thread http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=46005 has the gory details on installing SC7. (I'm reasonably certain that SC7 cannot be installed on LinkStation HG with the steps described there.)

Got it installed
Thanks for your advice.
It took about 2 days, but I finally got it installed. I had similar issues to what were reported in the other thread, but I got through it.
In terms of performance, I can say it's that zippy, but it's reasonably usable. You start to see a slow-down, when it's indexing the files at the same time as trying to scroll through tracks, etc. Apart from that, works a treat.
At the moment, I'm trying to install FAAD, so I can access M4A files - 2 steps forward, 1 step back!

Great to hear that you got it running. Did you have to do anything special in the installation process because it was a LinkStation HG rather than an LS Pro or Live?

I had already installed FreeLink on my Linkstation from the instructions at the buffalo.nas-central.org site.
Then I followed the instructions on here to install squeezecenter. The only deviation was on the command: perl -MCPAN -e shell
Although it ran successfully, I still had the 'since you don't have any existing picks you must make a geographic selection' error. In the end I found I had to run it as /usr/bin/perl -MCPAN -e shell, as I think the default installation has multiple perl installations and that caused it some grief.
