Works for me in Opera 9.62 and IE7.

Just type something and press enter or return.

odd, in firefox I get some kind of garbage javascript error, but if I leave cursor in box in IE7 it works, I guess I'll set up SC to use IE7.

Not sure what is the problem here. I can mouse over the magnifying glass, the text box appears, type my text and start searching. Works fine in firefox.

When does the java script appear? Do you have some internet filtering (anti spam/virus) software inplace?

Further to this, try disabling all the plugins to see if it works. If it does, add them in one at a time to see what is causing the problem.
