    Different Crossfade wanted

Currently the crossfade functionality is decreasing the volume of the current played song and is increasing at the same time the new song. At least it sounds like that. Some other, interesting options, could be, to crossfade the songs, like a DJ mixer is doing it. So increasing the new song to the maximum and then decreasing the volume of the currently played song.
Another one could be, to decrease the volume of the old song and start the new song at the same time with maximum volume.
And I would like to have more than 10 seconds as maximum fading time.

    Just some wishes :-)

Is there a way to enable the crossfader when pressing the "Next" and "Prev" button on the SBC ?

No, although there a few open bug reports regarding crossfading:

    Crossfade on skip next/play
Enhance Crossfading with dynamic count-back point
Crossfade option: start new song at 100%

    you can vote and/or comment...

    kind regards,

I too would LOVE to have a **REAL** crossfade function rather than the [unusable] kludge that exists now! For almost 12 years, I used Winamp and a plugin called "Sqrsoft Crossfade." It had a number of presets, including a "radio" crossfade (tighter, radio station type c/f which is what I always used), party crossfade, etc.

How difficult would it be to incorporate something into Squeezecenter? Sure .. there are times where I wouldn't want crossfade at all (listening to an entire CD), but there are other times where I want to listen to a tight crossfading set.

Really starting to miss a decent crossfade on the Squeezebox now. Aside from UK Napster integration this would make the biggest difference to my listening.

Any word on whether any development is happening on this at all (can't see any progress reported on bug 1403.

    Thank you.

    Peter.

Agreed. Since I just usually listen to a quick dynamic playlist (most listening lately has been during the workday when an eclectic mix is necessary), I am seriously missing a nice "radio-type" crossfade! I understand the limitations of the firmware, but can't it somehow be possible?
