Controller sound effects always off

Hmmm, for a while all controller sound effects has been off, is there a way to bring them back?

Charging, Navigation, Playback and Scroll *are* all checked under Settings - Advanced - Sound Effects, and Volume is at max level... Any suggestions?

Obvious question, but....

My sound effect feature seemed to be disabled on its own even though the Controller's Settings->Advanced->Sound Effects indicate that all sound effects are on (and the volume turned up).
It become disabled this way overnight while the Controller was cradled in the charger. I currently have version 7.3r3354 loaded.

Powering off (Hold home key for 3 seconds) and on (press Home key) the Controller brought the sound effects back.
