Hello everyone,
I just purchased a new squeezebox duet. I also bought an external seagate hard drive to store about 700 albums on. I am a little overwhelmed by all of the stuff I have to do. I am going to be using Itunes to rip my albums to apple lossless. I have ripped 3 albums and downloaded the appropriate artwork but I can not access the artwork from the squeezebox center or duet remote.?? If anyone knows what I am doing wrong, please let me know how to fix it.
I am a music lover and am also relatively new to the audiophile world. I have an NAD C370 integrated amp hooked up to a pair of Magneplanar Q1.6s using a pair of NHT A-1 amps to power a pair of NHT Evolution subwoofers. I am impressed with how good the squeezebox sounds through the system.
I will be on here quite a bit, Im sure. Seems like there are a lot of helpful people that frequent this forum.
Jason.

Artwork
If you download artwork from Apple, then it doesn't appear on the Duet controller. However you can do the following:
Open iTunes.
Select the album and right-click on the artwork image.
Select the copy option.
Right-click on the album name and select clear downloaded artwork.
Now paste the copied artwork back.
For some reason, when you copy artwork, or load your own artwork, then all works fine. It's a bit laborious if you have many albums...

If you're primarily going to use your tracks with the SB, you should consider compressing to FLAC instead. Apple Lossless can't be played natively by the SB, thus needs to be transcoded to FLAC whenever you want to play them.

The advice I gave several times there, is to try the way you want to go on 10 to 30 albums (including weird genres like classical and jazz if you have). Use this sample for one month and then you can decide if it's the good way to go for 700 albums. (I changed my mind three times at least).
