I think it's ALSA because an admin screen show :
ALSA device list
0 [radioSHARK ]: USB-Audio - radioSHARK
Griffin Technology, Inc. radioSHARK at usb-0000:00:1d.0-1, full speed
1 [Intel ]: HDA-Intel - HDA Intel
HDA Intel at 0xfea38000 irq 16
But I found a user "pulse"
Results 31 to 40 of 86

ALSA and OSS can be emulated under pulse.
Test using
pulseaudio --check

Linux version work OK - I haven't tested Windows but there are no significant SBS changes to interface the plugin uses so I don't expect problems.

Sorry to coming back...
But no response from Vortexbox forum...
It seems to be the command "shark://xxx" that did'n work.
I can choose a station with command line "./shark2 -fm xxx" and I can record it with "arecord ...".
But from SqueezeBox, if I select an other station, I would normaly record this new station. Unfortunately, station don't change and I record former station...
How to test URL "shark://xxx" from command line ? When I type it, I got
"-bash: shark://xxx: No such file or directory".

The "shark://" pseudo URL is only valid within SBS - it is a formatr crerated by the Sharkplay plugin to enable SBS handle radio stations as if they were a real URL.
Back to the original problem which I think is related to permissions and setup.
When you try to play a "shark://xxx" within SBS and assuming RadioShark LED is off before you start - either
(a) if the RadioShark LED comes on but no audio it means the "shark2" app works but arecord doesn't.
(b) if the RadioShark LED doesn't comes on it means the "shark2" app is not working.
What happens on your system (a) or (b) or something else ?
