    Change displayed time

    Hi,

I'm new to Squeezebox, I have the Duet model. The setup was painless. What is painful is that the screensaver clock is displaying the wrong time and I am unsure how to change it. The manual offers no help that I could find. Any pointers would be appreciated.

The time comes from the host computer. If you are using SqueezeCenter then you need to make sure that the time is correct on there. If you are using SqueezeNetwork then make sure that you have set your location/timezone correctly.

    Try SN....

I've never spent a ton of time figuring it out but I did notice one that my SBC screen saver time was a few minutes off from my PC time. Other folks said it shouldn't be that way, but....

When I want to update the time on my Controller I switch to SN on the controller and then switch back to SC. After that the time is correct. Seems weird, but it works for me... I've said it before, but I don't know why the SBC doesn't have a built in clock and setting to sync to a time server.

I know for a fact that the SB3 gets it's time from the host machine. I had always thought it got it from SN but wasn't the case. My host had a big crash and I didn't realize the time was off. Kept fight the SB3 trying to get it right when my son said the computer had the same time. Reset it and all is well now. Don't know about the duet but I figure it should be the same.
If the rule you followed brought you to this, of what use is the rule.

....I can't explain why my SB3 would show a time a few minutes different than my host PC and why I need to switch to SN to correct my time. Even my Boom was a few minutes different than my PC. It's weird.

If you change your time on your host machine does it change on the devices?
