Has anyone managed to get a BBC radio stream (via alienbbc) to work as an alarm?
I've tried but about 15-20 seconds after the alarm goes it seems to give up and uses the default buzzer.
Any ideas?

I should add that alienbbc works fine the rest of the time - the problem is only with alarms. I've set a live stream as a favourite and assigned this to an alarm.

If I was you I'd just make the chosen BBC channel stream a favorite and then use that for you alarm.
i.e for BBC Radio 4 use http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/wm_asx/aod/radio4.asx
This does not use AlienBBC files as it's an asx stream

...although I now have another problem with it. The alarm works and the station plays for about 30 minutes and then loses the connection. I have the alarm set to play for 90 minutes. Any ideas?

I think this will work.
Create a playlist with the same URL multiple times and then set the alarm to play the playlist.

Good idea... but why is it loosing connection after 30 mins? This does not happen to me and if you are using the BBC Radio 4 asx stream url above we are doing the same thing.

did you see the other thread about a connection timeout issue with bbc 4? There is a timeout setting that should be increased somewhere.

Unfortunately the problem remains after testing bpa's playlist suggestion. I've also increased the Setting/Advanced/Network/Radio Station Timeout to maximum.
It seems to drop consistently after 30-40 minutes. I have a strong signal and a reliable internet connection. I've also tried it at different times of the day but this results in the same behaviour.
Any other ideas?
