could someone possibly help as i'm not sure what error messages mean.

i've followed the procedure carefully. using latest firmware.

i've tried everything including using different firmware and reseting the ts-101.

when you install a new hard drive and use the install wizard to setup the the ts-101 should the public folders and other public folders be setup automatically or do i have to do it manually?

    thanks

    Resolution

    Hi...

Did you get a resolution to this. I am getting something similar...

I had a powercut today and somehow the software seems to have vanished... following the ripcaster instructions and getting the same errors you are...

    Any advice gratefully received...

    Thanks

    Oli

I don't know whether this will be any help at all, but since nobody else has said anything usefull, have you tried following the instructions on this page.

ummm... i am not a linux expert, which is why i installed SC on my qnap using qnap's QPKG system here:

    http://www.qnap.com/pro_application.asp?ap_id=71

it does not require any commandline hacking and i had my SC 7.2 up and running within 15 minutes.

not sure if it will still work after you've done some manual work, but maybe its worth a try?

Will that work for the TS-101 though? It seems to specifically reference the 109 model.

oops - sorry about that benp!

    (rtfm, as the saying goes)

glad *you* at least were reading the manual ;-)

you are right. i guess it is only for the x09 series.

    No problem, however:

I've searched through a few of the threads on this forum but there doesn't seem to be one place that takes you through how to install SC7 for the TS-101.

Is there a link to a step by step procedure to install SC on the 101? Preferably an idiots guide!

Or is there another way of playing music on the TS-101 through my Squeezebox without running SC? My understanding is that SqueezeNetwork only works with a service like mp3tunes.

I should probably point out that I already have SC installed on my PC which is running Windows XP.

Apologies as I appreciate this has already been discussed on other threads.

I had a quick through a thread where I knew that somebody had managed to do this. There are some instructions on this page

    http://forums.slimdevices.com/showth...+TS-101&page=5

from someone called Sawkie. It's not exctly an idiots guide (far from it), but it may give you a start in figuring out how to do it.

    Edit:
I think the part about BussyBox, is talking about a utility to unzip the archive. To run it you have to put the archive file on the TS-101, then telnet in and enter commands to run the unzip.

You may also find the following information usefull. The SSODS FAQ
    http://oinkzwurgl.org/ssods_faq
gives you the general idea of how to install SSODS. Clicking on the downloads link at the top of the page, you can get to the downloads. I think it is the PPC based one that you need for the TS-101.

Thanks Richard I think between the information in that thread and the previous link from progressive along with my rusty unix command line skills I should be able to give it a crack.

I've got a couple of questions regarding SC versions though, will the progressive link: http://www.progressiveav.com/ts101_u...tall/ts101201/
automatically get me the latest version of SC or will I be stuck with version 6?

Also how easy/hard will it be me to get the latest versions and install them on the TS 101 in the future?

    Oh and what is SSODS?

Many thanks for all your help.
