Talk Radio 702 stream doesn't work

Used to connect to talk radio 702 stream(can't remember the exact url but found it via internet radio, radiotime).
It's an african radio station based in johannesburg.
I keep getting "getting info" message then nothing. If saved as a favourite and try from there, it says playlist is empty.

The stream works fine from the radiotime site but will not work on squeezenetwork anymore.

Any ideas?

is use this stream:
mms://196.35.64.36/702_16

It is hidden somewhere in the aspx file. Not sure how it works but you use something like vlc to play the aspx file and it will show you the link to the actual stream (above).

Many of SA stations are available here: http://www.antfarm.co.za/antradio/index.asp

You just need to play it using VLC player (or anything that will show you the underlying stream)

Are you able to connect to 702 using mms://196.35.64.36/702_16?

Only thing I seem to be able to connect to is Highveld.

Nope it didn't work. Will check if they have changed their stream location over the weekend. Will also post how I get the new location so you can find it next time.

Got it, thanks. Question is how does one reliably discern the apropriate mms url to be able to reliably connect to these stations.

heh, had it for about 30 secs now it "can't open file format". Tried again after a few minutes and got it. I remember this was always the case with 702 though. Don't flip back and forth unless you're happy to have to listen to something else. Could be an IDS in action detecting multiple connection attempts from the same ip.
