    A few words on HDTracks

    1) They recently added some recordings from the ECM label to their catalog. Hopefully they will be adding even more in the future.

    2) HDTracks recently sent out an email offer to their "members" for 20% off the price of high resolution (24 bit / 96 kHz) downloads (the promo code is "hdtHD08"). Also the hi-res downloads are reasonably priced at $15.98 per album, which comes to $12.78 with the 20% discount - a very sweet price for a 24/96 DRM free download.

NOTE: 24 bit / 96 kHz will NOT play on a SqueezeBox Classic or a SqueezeBox Receiver but they will play on a Transporter.

    3) While I was living in the Netherlands (August 2007 until October 2008) I was able to purchase and download several titles from HDTracks using my US based credit card so I think their current "US only" has more to do with the billing side of things than anything else.

    4) I agree that the download manager is completely unnecessary and just makes things only more complicated since the DL manager downloads everything to the DL mamager created "My HDTracks Music" folder from which I then have to edit, retag and move the files. Why do so many of these online services treat all users like they are brain dead? Some users may actually know what they are doing and can do a simple task like downloading files to a specific location on their computer. But like I stated, at least their prices are nice.

You can play the 24/96 on your SB or Reciever newest SC7.3.2 has a working flac to flac conversion 24/96 will be transcoded to 24/48 on the fly, for the "lesser" players, so I buy 24/96 when it exist for the music i want.
Who knows what playback system I will own in the future, might as well have my files in the best possible format.

Thanks for the heads up about SC7.3.2 - I'll install it as soon as it's officially released.
