Does the Netgear NAS give you access to the settings web page - if so you should be able to install as you do for the plugin on other platforms? It should be an option from the settings, advanced, plugin web page?

    Triode,

having been using iPlayer plugin happily for some time with up to 5 sync'd players, but upgraded to 7.5 today and the synchronisation has completely gone on 'listen live' (radio 6). If I switch to my library then synchronisation is spot on but I couldn't find a combination of players (2 * Sb3, SBR and Radio) that work with iplayer on 7.5

One SB3 should a constant rebuffering message between 9% and 13% but the radio stream played uninterrupted.

I can run some more exhaustive tests tomorrow (and server will have done a full rescan by then).

Try setting the "prefer wma" setting - I think you need wma to make sync work, but would be interested in your feedback.

    Thumbs up

tested and concur with awy, prior to 7.5 (up to and including 7.4.2 r30215 production) iplayer plugin sync'd on AAC.

awy, are you now seeing sync issues on 7.5?

Switching to 7.5. r.30464 and sync is consistently out (streams are consistent without stutters but consistently out of phase).

I had never used iplayer settings before so they had always been
    prefer WMA UNCHECKED
    use Flash AAC Enabled
    use Flash MP3 Enabled
    show live text Enabled
    Live Text - TopLine

I've run the following tests this morning, using more info to check the actual stream, streaming to 2*SB3, 1* SBR, 1* boom and 1* radio [fingers crossed Touch will arrive soon]

    7.5.0 r30464
my library: FLAC 957kbps VBR 44.1kHz 16 bit - sync fine
iplayer WMA: Windows Media File 128kbps CBR http:\\www.bbc.co.uk/radio ...etc - sync fine
iplayer AAC: File Type: AAC URL: rtmp://cp60690.live.edgefsc.... etc - sync not working

    7.4.2 r30215
my library: as above: sync fine
iplayer WMA: as above: sync fine
iplayer AAC: as above: sync fine.

My conclusion is that something in 7.5 has 'broken' iplayers ability to have AAC sync'd, as they work fine on 7.4.2
If anyone knows other AAC streams, I'll test those to see if it is an AAC issue or iplayer.

Alan - with aac synced on listen again streams I get constant buffering messages on touch. Do you see the same? Could this impact sync? I think this may be due to the way rtmp flow control works.

Update: with 7.4 see same as Mitch - sync works with aac live streams. Also no buffering messages on Touch (may be because they were not being shown before..)

Update2: 7.5 never reaches synchronised state, both players are playing in BUFFERING state - so no STMl has been received from the player? [only expecting Alan to decode this!]

Update3: problem was within iplayer - this was erroneously sending cont messages to players even though they are not direct streaming and this caused them to change autostart mode to 1 which does not appear to work with sync.

Found a bug with the latest version of the plugin and 7.5 which prevents sync for aac streams.

I'll post a new version (1.1.3) in a few minutes - please try it and post back.

Works fine for me now, iplayer plugin on 7.5 streaming AAC sync'd perfectly to 5 players.

Thanks for such a fast response, I can now enjoy 6music whilst it lasts. (don't suppose you can fix the BBC's daft plans as quick???)

And got UPS notification for my Touch - will add that to test when it arrives.

Can you describe the problem in more detail - can you still play from the classic player? What options you do you set in the BBCiPlayer settings page?
