My Controller doesn't clear out old genre tags. So if I had a CD once tagged mistakenly as "County" instead of "Country" and now I fix it, there is still a County tag. How do I get it to fully clean out and refresh genre tags?

You may have to do a full rescan of your music library, instead of a scan for changed music.

Also some tracks have 2 or even 3 tags, you think you changed it, but you changed only 1 of them. With mp3tag you can delete tags, all of them or only the ape, or id3 version 1 or 2.

Tried full rescan
I tried a full rescan and that didn't do it. I am not sure what multiple tags would refer to. In ITunes the songs show the right genre... ANy other ideas or explanations would be much appreciated.

just download mp3tag (it's free) and have a look at the tags. then you can see if and which tags are with your songs. For instance a cd has been ripped to .ape and lateron converted to .mp3 has 2 tags. Maybe you changed only one but the other tag still has the original data.

Is this something we should submit a bug/feature request for? Maybe it would cause change scans (as opposed to full scans) longer, but...
I ran into this issue over the weekend - somehow a couple of freshly ripped albums got separated into two different albums. The first track was it's own album, and the rest were a second. I decided it was becuase metadata was somehow different on the first track, and indeed, they had different album names. So I fixed the meta, and after a change scan (not a full scan), the meta did update - now I had two identically titled albums. I ended up having to full scan in order to clear that out.
I guess it just seems more intiutive to me that a change in the file of any kind would trigger things to get refreshed fully in SC. Not a huge deal, since I've since fixed the tagging issue that caused all this, but maybe just for general usability?A Touch + Cambridge DAC Magic has replaced my venerable SB3. May it rest in peace.
