I'm having a discussion about FLAC versions with a friend of mine and he claims the latest version of FLAC is 1.2.1b.
I, however, think that the 1.2.1b is a beta version and the 1.2.1 version is the latest one.
Anyone know the answer ?

Josh knows, and he occasionally posts here. But short of that, the
official site is
http://flac.sourceforge.net/
There seem to be slight version numbers differences out after 1.2.1 for
assorted OS

1.2.1b is the latest. It was version that fixed a bug in 1.2.1 and was released shortly afterward.

FLAC version
Why doesn't the 1.2.1b mentioned in the changelogs? And why is 1.2.1 listed as the latest version at http://sourceforge.net/project/showf...ckage_id=12675 ? And what bug is sorted out in the b version ?

See (post #12 for the bug):

No idea what 1.2.1a fixed - maybe just an 'oops' fix immediately after 1.2.1.
