I use XMMS. I can open my existing playlists in it and drag songs into them from a file window and then resave.

I think J. River's Media Center and Media Jukebox are just as good or better for Windows users. Unfortunately, they have to be exported to be used in SC, so you lose the "smartness" of them.

Yeah, I think that would be one huge improvement to SC is if we could make smart playlists. I really like my 25 most played etc..

Maybe someday. For now, Erland's Plug-ins (SQL Playlist, Trackstat, etc.) get it almost there. For mixes based on BPM, I have some smartlists in MC which I periodically export to SC, and use them as a basis for dynamic playlists in SC using Erland's plugins.

Can someone here can deduce the odds of any given track in a 10kTtrack/5kAlbum collection being a one-hit-wonder? I'd put $20 on 1/5 :-)

Shouldnt be difficult.....itunes will be almost read only if you select do NOT let itunes manage your files. Let itunes scan your music directory, then create the playlists. SC7 will automatically recognize the itunes playlists (itunes plugin is standard). If you want itunes to register your playcount and ratings (from SC) then you will need the itunes updater plug-in c/o James Craig.
