Two questions:
(1) Can Media Monkey be made to act like SoftSqueeze? I've tried running the URL http://SERVER:9000/stream.mp3 (where the SC is on my server named "SERVER") but it doesn't seem to do anything.
(2) Can a playlist be created in Media Monkey and then imported into the SC? If so, how is that done?

Creating Playlists and Media Monkey

I'm not familiar with Media Monkey but as long as you can save playlists with the .m3u extension and put them in your playlists folder it should work. However you have to ensure that the path to the music files as defined by the playlist is correct when seen by Squeezecenter - this may not automatically be the case. If the paths are not correctly defined then you can just open the m3u file in a text editor and do a search and replace for the correct path before resaving the file.

I've got it working by playing the URL above, choosing a track, then stopping the stream in MediaMonkey and restarting it again. Not exactly elegant. I think it's something to do with the buffer - maybe there's a setting in MM to sort this out - I've never looked.
Yes, in MediaMonkey go to Tools > Scripts > Export all Playlists. Save them to whereever you've told SC to look for them and run a Playlist scan in SC. I manage all my playlists in MM (because of the excellent AutoPlaylist feature).(2) Can a playlist be created in Media Monkey and then imported into the SC? Does this mean that it would be possible to use MediaMonkey to control the duet receiver? That would be amazing! I tried using that url and got nothing, though. Is there any other information about how to use MediaMonkey to control what music is played with a duet?

There is a MediaMonkey script that apparently* allows you to control SqueezeCenter (thus your Duet) via MediaMonkey:

* only because I haven't tried it myself, so I'm not sure of its functionalityFamily Room: Receiver; Kitchen: Boom; Garden: Classic; Bedroom: Boom; Anywhere: Controller, SqueezeCommander, Android SqueezePlayer

Thanks so much for the link to the MM forum. It sounds promising, but is a little too cutting-edge for me. I will love to use any integration features of the two programs once they are designed for non-programming types like me. I'm so glad people are working on it since it seems very clear that many people would like these features. I think a lot of MM products are sold as a result of people here on the squeezebox forums. It makes sense to integrate!
