No there was no problems when I was on SB server 7.5.2 on the same server and router. I have noticed that when I have "stay connected" on and there is a connection drop(the bug I mentioned)on my Transporter then iPeng drops connection and then another player is selected.....

Well, it would be normal that when your Transporter loses the connection that iPeng would switch to another player. This has nothing to do with iPeng's communication.

It just means that the player is no longer present on the server (the server doesn't report it anymore) so iPeng switches over to the next one.

    Hi Pippin,

On May 15, I reported I can't find the server information under Setting-->Advance

I have to report again that, although I have done nothing, yesterday under the Setting-->Advance I can find the server information again.

I don't know what did I do, somehow it fixed.

    Ipod Touch 3G vs 4G

I am looking to buy a used Ipod Touch, which will only be used as Ipeng remote.

Is there a big difference between the Ipeng experience on a Touch 3G and a Touch 4G?

Back in 2010 the answer was: Slightly faster and a bit more nice looking. :-)
But wondering if anything has changed...
Does Ipeng take advantage of the retina screen? Displaying more items?

BTW: I am also wondering how the experience will be, if Ipod is kept in a charging dock with Ipeng active? Will Ipeng always be ready and connected when the Ipod is picked up?

    Thanks in advance.

    Martin
    Best regards

It's a timing issue. It can happen infrequently.

The iPod 4 has a more brilliant display. Apart from that I find the 3G to be fine, too (Note: I don't actually know iPod touch 4G, only iPhone 4).

The display on iPhone 4 is really brilliant but it didn't grow, so it doesn't really make sense to display more content just because there is more resolution, would only hurt your eyes

I'm happy too soon. Last night it's gone.

The only thing I did was adding a few ripped albums to the library and rescan for new music.

After that, the server information disappeared under the Settings, there is no Advance tag anymore.

Maybe this give you some hint to do the debugging.

hmmm - got a bit of a strange one here.

I rip my cds in iTunes and run that through Squeezebox and iPeng. The strange thing is with the new Queen remasters. I have put both CDs together to make one album (these are the twoCD versions). It appears in iTunes fine, but in iPeng each album is split into five or six albums.

There is no rhyme or reason to what is in each album - it is not sorted by composer or anything like that. I have flushed the cache but it doesn't solve the problem.

    Any ideas?

I don't remember exactly what the reason was, I believe it has to do with tags (or subfolders, if you use them).

In any case: it's not an iPeng issue but a Squeezebox Server one, you'll find that it looks the same way in your server's web interface or on the box itself.

Which server version do you use?

Cheers. I do use subfolders so I'm guessing it must be something to do with the way squeezebox deals with that and is unabvoidable.

    I use 7.5.4
