So I plan on getting an iPad pretty soon and of course the first app I will install in it is iPeng. I currently already have an iphone with iPeng and have the addon to allow local playback. If I buy the iPad version of iPeng do I need to buy the addon again?

I went back to a clean install of 7.6 r32064 today and my problem with the Artist and Genre menus returned. If I tap on an album in either menu, I do not get a song list and album artwork. The Album and Years menus work correctly. I tested immediately after installation before I added any of my plug-ins. After installing Custom Browse, my Custom Browse menus work fine.

No, you will need to also install the iPhone App on iPad, though, but that's free. If you've got both Apps on the iPad you can enable playback for both for free by just restoring it for the iPhone App.
7.6 still seems to have communication issues around all kind of menus.
It's currently with Apple for review. Depends on Apple, maybe end of next week (last time review took 10 days).---

Just got the iPad 2 and what a HUGE difference the extra speed makes for iPeng for my setup. I have many large playlists and frequently iPeng would slow down and in some cases it could take several seconds or longer for things like alarm control panel to launch for one of my Squeezeboxes.
It is super quick now, the extra cpu and RAM make a big difference!

Hi Pippin, I have 2 issues with the ipeng app on my iphone 4.
1) This has already been discussed on this thread - when browsing music in Music Folder mode, it would appear that the presence of an m3u file or subfolder within a folder makes ipeng remove the play/add/add next buttons at the top of the screen. Instead you need to tap and hold or tap the track/album to get to the play options. Is there anyway to change this behaviour without deleting the m3u files?
2) When I cover the front camera lens on the iphone, the screen goes blank. This is really annoying! The screen often goes blank when I don't want it to, as my hand has quickly passed over the lens. Is it intentional? I can't find anywhere to turn this off.
Thanks for the great app!

1) As already discussed in this thread: No. This would need server side changes because anything else would lead to unpredictable behavior when you actually play a track. In extreme cases it could play your whole library.
I will have to experiment a bit on whether I can at least change this in a future release for current or upcoming server versions (there have been changes since it was initially designed) but this requires a complete redesign of the whole music folder code.
2) Also discussed a lot. Yes, it's intentional and goes along with the "keep active" setting. It may be worth getting it's own setting since this became so much worse due to the insensitivity of the camera as a proximity sensor (iPhone 3G/S was much better here).
It's this ticket (feel free to reopen):

With SBS 7.5.4 r32061 on Win XP I cannot see the Custom Browse menu in iPeng on iPad and iPhone. I can see all the top level menus created by CB, but not the CB menu itself. The CB menu is shown in the Web UI.
Is this a known issue?2 x SB3 (wired), Receiver (wired), Boom (wireless), Controller, iPeng on iPhone 4 & iPad, muso on remote computer running Win 7 64-bit | 7.7.3 on Win XP
