Would it be possible to add an option to have iPeng cache downloaded CustomBrowse data? This cache could be cleared the same way as the normal iPeng cache, i.e. upon request or when the SBS library has changed.
Completely loading long artist or album lists in CustomBrowse takes a long time, as does accessing some menus invoking complex sql queries.
I realise that caching CustomBrowse data is not ideal for everyone, i.e. those using "dynamic" menus (recently played tracks etc.), and this is why I ask only about an option.

As caching is done now, this would be very, very hard to do, first of all because with CB you don't even know upfront what kind of menus will be there.
I plan to rework caching for 1.4 (and probably iPad) and made some suggestions to Erland on how to complement CB with that. Maybe there's a chance for this now that he's got back his motivation about the SB platform

Thanks. Sounds promising. I meant an option to just cache everything downloaded by CB and reuse it if the same menu is invoked again. That way it should not matter if the menu disappears (the cache is then just redundant) or if another menu appears. If you could work out something with Erland to distinguish between static and dynamic menus, that would be even better! I have filed a ticket for this.
And while I was at it I also filed this ticket: Add an option to sort the More menu, just like playlists can be sorted. If a new menu item is added to the More menu, put that item last and let the user put it in place using the sort option.
Do you know if it is possible to use CustomBrowse to supplement/alter the context artist, album and track menus in iPeng?2 x SB3 (wired), Receiver (wired), Boom (wireless), Controller, iPeng on iPhone 4 & iPad, muso on remote computer running Win 7 64-bit | 7.7.3 on Win XP

Podcast descriptions: where?
Is there any way to read full podcast descriptions using iPeng? I can only find truncated descriptions by clicking on the name of a podcast (i.e. "Description: Isolate is the first mix published on ambientbl....ks. It's great").
The same screen also states the length of every podcast as 0.01 something or other.

Pippin.
Just a thank you for the latest updates. but I am not sure that I like the new penguin. But it does seem to represent the App as it does seem to have matured nicely."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."
