Would be much easier if Triode's plugin could be added to the main menu....
I use Squeeze Commander on my phone (Android) and it seems to deal with editing the home screens fairly elegantly.

It deals with re-arranging and disabling items on the home screen. At least disabling is something you can do in iPeng, too, if you use the Party/Kids mode (just disable menus), although it's not as elegant.

But what DannyKudos wants is to _add_ additional items to the main menu and I don't think you can do that in SqueezeCommander, at least I haven't found that option.

Is the ordering reliable in SqueezeCommander? I found that difficult in iPeng for iPhone (where I do it for the tab bar) because of all the player-dependant menus which mean that you can have completely different items on the main menu for different players.

Still no iPod art displaying on iPeng

    Hi Pippin and everyone.

I know I only posted this problem a couple of months ago but I still can't resolve it so I thought I'd re-post it to see if anyone has any new suggestions.

    Equipment & Software:
    - 2G iPod Touch running iOS 4.2.1 and iPeng 1.5.2
    - SB Radio with v7.7.2 r9963 installed
    - PC running LMS v7.7.2 r33893

    Problem:
    - 'Now Playing' art does not display in iPeng when playing music from local library, regardless of whether the iPod or the SB is selected as the player. Thumbnail art does display, as does full screen 'Now Playing' art from internet radio (if available), but when playing any music files (flac or mp3) stored locally on the PC only the blank CD/disc image displays.

    - All artwork properly displays on the SB Radio and on the PC running LMS.

    - All my music files are tagged with 500x500 jpg art and stored in folder with 500x500 jpg folder art.

    - It worked perfectly for over a year and now doesn't and I really miss it.

I apologise for posting this issue again, and if no solution can be found this time I promise not to wait another couple of months and post it for a third time!

    Thanks everyone.

I seriously have no idea what could be causing this, especially since the NowPlaying artwork is usually rather more reliable than the thumbnails since only a single artwork has to be loaded at a time.
Also, the "empty case" is something the server sends as a replacement for the cover instead of an artwork, if iPeng simply could not load the artwork you would see a musical note on a dark background.

The server seems to feel incapable to send the artwork in the size iPeng requests which is 960x960 pixels or whatever smaller size the original artwork had, so even issues with the scaler can't really be related, the server would just have to send the original image. Not that I would have thought it's the scaler because in that case you would have problems with the thumbnails, too.

I know there have been issues with the server sending images in that format but that's definitely fixed in 7.7.2 and even 7.7.1, I believe it was only a 7.7.0 beta that was affected.

Also, neither I nor anybody else seems to have seen this so far, I'm afraid as long as I can't get access to your server I have no idea what to do.

Ah well, I guess it'll have to remain a mystery, but I appreciate your thoughts on it anyway.

Such a shame, I really miss the artwork now it has gone. If I ever manage to fix it, either by luck or judgement, I'll let you know.

    Thanks again for the app.

Have you tried doing a complete "clear and rescan" in LMS to see if that fixes things? A longshot, I know...but worth a try.

Ipeng display of albums with more than 25 songs under Erland plugins

When I view an album with over 25 songs in CustomBrowse or Trackstat, it displays a new copy of the album art every 25 items as attached, making for a little traffic jam... Note that the second additional images don't provide any value because there is no reason to scroll the original art off the top of the screen (It stays in place until the next one knocks it off. Better to leave just a single one locked in place). I vaguely recall this used to work as I would expect but don't remember when things changed.

This only seems to apply to Erland plugins because the standard squeezebox menus don't seem to have a header every 25 items.

    I know.
No chance. And no, it's always been that way.

For the standard menus iPeng knows it actually shows an album, not a playlist, a top-100 list or something else, here iPeng doesn't because all the plugin- and server-generated menus are not content aware.
Changing this would break the index bar for a lot of menus.

BTW: I _do_ have a few "Albums" where this is actually quite useful because they have over 1.000 tracks and then being able to use the index bar (which requires the intermediate headers you are seeing) helps a lot.

Thanks, Pippin. I use the index bar too (I assume this refers to the "fast scrolling," which fixes a huge gripe I have with every other ios app) and would never suggest getting rid of it.

My question was about why you needed to duplicate the artwork for each intermediate header (as shown in the screenshot). Wouldn't the text be enough or are there scenarios where the artwork changes for each intermediate header?
