Hi Pippin,
I have a small issue I hope you can solve for me. Here the deal:
I have an Iphone 3G and an Ipod Touch Generation 1. I previously purchased the In-App so I could play music directly on my iphone. I never really used it though so I decided to delete it. Now my daughter got a dock so I thought it would be a great idea to revive the app and use it in her room.
When I try to find it on my iphone I dont have the possibility to find "activate" the function. I have the possibility to do it on my Touch but when I repurchase it will not install. I dont recall I had it installed on my Touch earlier. I did however on my Iphone but now it doesnt work.
I am running Ipeng 1.4.5 on both units.
Do you have any ideas on how to solve the issue?
Thanks
Jeppe

Sorry that I don't fully understand what does and does not work on which device.
There are four gotchas about re-enabling iPeng playback:
* Use the same iTunes account as for the original purchase
* Use "Settings->Enable Playback" and here the "Restore previous purchase" button at the bottom of the page (the green one)
* It needs to be the same App, so you can only restore playback for the iPad version in the iPad version and for the iPhone on in the iPhone one. The iPhone and iPod touch App are the same thing.
* You need to be connected to your Logitech Media Server/Squeezebox Server for playback to work, it doesn't work when you are connected to MySqueezebox.com
1.4.5 is pretty old (unless you are on a 1st generation device where it's the last release) but playback should work there anyway, the product (by App Store definition) is the same.---

Hi Pippin,
PLease see my comments below:
There are four gotchas about re-enabling iPeng playback:
* Use the same iTunes account as for the original purchase :It is the same account. no changes there.
* Use "Settings->Enable Playback" and here the "Restore previous purchase" button at the bottom of the page (the green one): I am not able to find the "settings - enable playback" on my Iphone. I can see it on my touch but when I hit the button I enter my passcode and then nothing happens.
* It needs to be the same App, so you can only restore playback for the iPad version in the iPad version and for the iPhone on in the iPhone one. The iPhone and iPod touch App are the same thing. This is only related to the Iphone/Touch app and not on the Ipad.
* You need to be connected to your Logitech Media Server/Squeezebox Server for playback to work, it doesn't work when you are connected to MySqueezebox.com: I dont use Mysqueezebox.com.

On which device is it that the playback doesn't work.
It can well be that you don't have the "Settings->Enable Playback" menu but this means that playback is already activated!
I did not understand the comment with the passcode
In this case: could you send me a diagnostics mail from the device where it doesn't work? Just tap the mail link under "Help".* You need to be connected to your Logitech Media Server/Squeezebox Server for playback to work, it doesn't work when you are connected to MySqueezebox.com: I dont use Mysqueezebox.com.
If the "Restore Previous Purchase" button doesn't work, please go to the (iPhone/iPod) settings and try to log out of the App Store and log back in.---

Hi Pippin,
Playback doesnt work for any of the 2 devices.
Touch: I can see the "Activate Playback" I can see the repurchase button. When I hit it I and enter my Apple account it doesnt return with a box saying it has been activated.
Iphone: I can not see the "activate Playback". I dont see 2 sources to choose from (My Iphone and my Musicserver).
Let me try the option to log out and in again of app store and send you a diagnostics as well.

iPeng doesn't show up as a source but as a player.
There's also a switch under "Settings->iPeng Settings" where you can enable/disable playback after you've done the purchase. It's enabled by default but you might want to doublecheck for it.
You are accessing a local server, not a remote one, right?---

Thank you!! that did the trick on my iphone.
Now... before it worked on my iphone I tried several things on my Touch. In a second of madness I deleted Ipeng on it and when I tried to reinstall from app store it tells me that it needs IOS 4.2... Now I am screwed or what?? It has never been connected to a pc or if it has it is a long time ago even before Ipeng was installed..

I'm sorry to say that but if this is an old 1st generation device on which you can't install iOS 4.2 the answer is probably "yes".
Sorry, but I've been announcing for months that we would discontinue iOS 3 support (since October last year) and that people should get backups of the App, it's been on the we site for months and it's been in the release notes for four or five updates. We even delayed a number of updates to keep iOS 3 compatible versions in the store for longer.
iPeng has had support for iOS 3 much longer than most other Apps (you will have a hard time to still find new Apps supporting it), at some point of time we had to move on and unfortunately the App Store has no provisions whatsoever to support more than a single version of an App.
Which generation of device do you use?---

iPengHD and VortexBox
Hi Pippin,
Once again congratulations for the good job with iPeng. I would like to have your assistance again. I have been thinking to buy a NAS called VortexBox. I was hoping that you knew it as I was wondering if iPeng will work as fast as with my Squeezebox server installed on my laptop. In general and based on your personal experience would you recommend the use of a NAS?
Thanks in advance.Primary system: Squeezebox Touch, iPengHD/Squeezepad on iPad3, Little Doc DAC I, Virtue Audio One, Philips DVP3580, Mission M34i.
Secondary system: Wandboard Dual with CSOS R4, iPengHD/Squeezepad on iPad3, Cambridge Audio DacMagic, Cambridge Audio Azur 640C V2, Little Dot III, AKG K 702.

I don't have a VortexBox myself but from what I hear I think it's pretty fast and a good choice as a server.
Actually I did consider it a few times since its probably faster than what I use now.
It's essentially a low-power PC with a VortexBox Linux distribution.---
