I use only one SBS server. Sometimes when I use a CustomBrowse menu the server stalls for a while and iPeng looses connection. I thought that the new version should reconnect to the player it was connected to before the disconnection. But I see the same behaviour as before: iPeng connects to another player (a player beginning with the letter A) not one of the players in a player group (with names beginning with letters that comes later than A in the alphabet) that iPeng was controlling before the disconnection.
Or did I misunderstand the fix/feature in the new version?2 x SB3 (wired), Receiver (wired), Boom (wireless), Controller, iPeng on iPhone 4 & iPad, muso on remote computer running Win 7 64-bit | 7.7.3 on Win XP

Puh, it's a bit hard to say what exactly happens when the server stalls for a longer time, in this case it can depend on how long the outage was and whether the players are also disconnecting from the server.
I have this issue with the random albums menu which makes the whole server hang for a minute, disconnecting all players, the outcome here can be completely random.
The problem is that since iPeng doesn't get _any_ feedback for a minute or so it invalidates all other states.---

The stalling in itself is obviously a far worse issue than having to manually reconnect the correct player. I just (mis)understood that you had fixed the reconnection thing in the new version and therefore asked here. I am sure there are good reasons for iPeng's memory loss when it is feeling lonely/serverless.

Umm.... Is only iPENG stalling (_that_ should be fixed) or is it the _server_ stalling, which isn't something iPeng can do anything about.
iPeng should not stall when requesting a menu but there are indeed CustomBrowse menus (Random Albums, for me, which is unfortunate) that seem to stall the whole server.
EDIT: The reconnection thing that was fixed is more about how iPeng behaves if it comes back from sleep and the server setup/player connections have changed or when a player switches to another server which can happen automatically under certain circumstances.---

I'll check. I've got a timeout after which I reconnect to a disappearing player when it shows up again, maybe it helps to increase that.
I can't always stay connected to the player because that way I it would take too long to reconnect if a player really disconnects because of e.g. a power loss.---

I believe it should already do so if the players come back simultaneously. I just suspect they don't....

I have owned th iPeng for iPhone application for over a year. I am now considering the iPad version that would allow me to use it more often. My main goal is to be able to create playlists easily. I have created playlists with the iPhone version, but I have to say that it is not as intuitive as i would like. I am wondering if the iPad version would allow me to create playlists in a more intuitive way, like say iTunes.
I just saw that there is a new version for the iPad but there are no reviews that address this question.
Any comments will be appreciated. Thanks!
