This is my first post, as I only received my Squeezebox Classic today. Although I can bring up on my Settings screen under Volume Adjustment the option for No Volume Adjustment, the manual that came with my unit does not address this issue, and I can't find on my remote an "Enter" type button to enable this feature. (I also can't find a button on the remote to "Stop" the playing of a music item!) I expect I'll feel embarrassed when someone (hopefully) points out the no-doubt-obvious answers to this (these) queries.

Disabling Volume Adjustment

Hi you can do the player settings from the web interface to, go "settings" in the bottom of the left pane, then "player" tab then you can find "audio" on the drop down meny, then you find a "volume controll" tab.
This is adjusted for each player you have.
Other wise center button wold work as "enter" in someplaces or "play".
For PAUSE short click on pause button for STOP long click on pause button.

The Volume Adjustment feature enables or disables the automatic adjustment of playback volume based on ReplayGain data stored in the track tags. This can be set via the web page as you have seen or via the remote control handset under Settings, Volume Adjustment.
For a "Stop", press and hold the "Pause" button. Not super-intuitive perhaps but makes sense to me once I think about it - and saves a button.

I can't believe this! Within a few minutes of my query I've received useful information from forum members in Hong Kong and Sweden. Doesn't anyone ever sleep anymore? Thanks guys. (I'm still working on implementing what you've told me, but I did want to express my thanks quickly.) Regards, Jim

I still can't get my Squeezebox to accept the "No Volume Adjustment" feature through either of the methods you guys suggested. The option to do so was definitely there, but no permanent setting ever resulted. However, I guess I am accomplishing the same thing by just setting the volume level to maximum everytime I listen to music. Thanks anyway

Hmm, did you press the "apply" button at the bottom left corner after changing the setting ? (when using the web UI)
One can wonder why you have to do that ? very strange indeed buts thats how it is.
Btw i'm now on the latest 7.2 beta but this have always worked in the other versions for me, some transition in 7.1 trowed away your settings but they worked after reapplying them.Last edited by Mnyb; 2008-08-12 at 11:43.
