    Compression level Dbpoweramp?

Is there a real difference in sound quality between level 6 and level 8?
    Thanks

Your question is unclear: you're not saying which format you compress to. But if you're talking about FLAC, the compression level has absolutely no influence on the quality (it just takes more time to compress). FLAC compression acts the same here as ZIP compression.

Sorry to have been unclear. It's all new to me and feel like I'm taking a crash course.
Ripping to FLAC in secure mode with level 8. There is a considerable speed difference at level 6 or 5 but I want to get as perfect a rip as possible. From previous answer it seems the level does not matter.
    Thanks

No, there will be no sound quality difference. A higher compression level just results in a slightly smaller file.

Too much compression can mess up playback in some programs too. Not by using dbpoweramp but if you use winamp it uses a different flac encoder and can mess up if you use too much compression. In dbpoweramp you are best served by the default settings as the space savings are not a lot as you go for more. Really if you need to save space you are better off going with a good lossy encoder like lame and a fairly high variable bit rate.
If the rule you followed brought you to this, of what use is the rule.

Afiak level 1 to 8 is supported by the official/original FLAC encoder/decoder

I think you can use up to level 12 ? on winamp I would not do that.

My level 8 files are working properly with squeeze

    Thanks to all.
Space really not a concern. Hd's relatively cheap just want the quality.
