I raised this issue some time ago and it was fixed in 5.1.1, Firmware
    Version 8,
so I am surprised that you are still encountering it ...

Version 8 also put the 44.1 frequency right ...

May be it╣s worth confirming that you have the most up-to-date firmware ...?

I guess I should also have stated that I'm using the latest official
build (proper 5.1.1, along with Firmware 8), so unless something's
fixed in a nightly I should have the latest fixes.

I suspect that the 44.1kHz is still not quite right, but is probably
close enough that only the few odd people in the world owning such
fussy DAC's are affected. The fact that it worked with MP3, but not
with Flac, is clear evidence to me that something is different
    between the two.

(I guess two other experiments would have been to try transcoding the
Flac to high quality MP3 instead of Wav, and transcoding the MP3
to WAV to see how this worked. I'll add these to the list for next
    time.)
