cannot connect squeezebox v3 to server

when I try to enter my wep key with the remote, nothing happens. Been a while since I did this, what am I doing wrong? shouldn't I be able to enter characters for the wep key with the remte's keypad?

What do you mean "nothing happens"? It must say something on the screen?

when it gets to the point where I should be entering the wep key, the screen has a few stars in its place. I hit 2 nothing happens. I hit o nothing happens, then I hit 3 and the unit reboots. (the wep key starts with 20e there is no problem entering the network ssid on the keypad, and it works fine wired by ethernet.)

I actually had this working fine until a week ago, when I powered off my entire system and left it powered off for a week.
