I tried to streamline my LMS set up by disabling Custom Scan startup & rescan refresh and the automatic rescan (one issue was that new data supposed to be scanned by Custom Scan such as album rating for newly added albums did not show up, maybe Custom Scan which is really slow never had a chance to finish between my nightly scans). But after a PC reboot LMS web UI (but not the Custom Scan settings page) still reports a Custom Scan running. Is that just some kind of display issue?

I seem to remember installing a beta version of Custom Scan, I have v.3.0pre3832, that might be doing scans differently. How can I get the latest stable version back? I could not see any other version in the plugins page.

I have also downgraded to 7.7.2 release LMS version.

I still get long startup times although I have disabled TrackStat startup & rescan refresh. The TrackStat version is 3.1.3829.

Feels a bit strange, do you have automatic scanning for new/changed files enabled in LMS ?
If that's the case, it could be that LMS finds a new/updated track at restart and triggers a Custom Scan, I've seen this occurred when their are playlist files in music folder: http://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=17274

I'm not sure when the scanning status is cleared, it could be that it isn't cleared automatically if a scanning has been aborted in a bad way.
Another user had similar issues with SMD plugin and then the solution was to install Database Query plugin and create a "Free form query" with the following SQL:
    Code:
    delete from progress
And execute this query and then restart LMS.

    1. Make sure the alpha repository is NOT in the repository list in LMS Settings/Plugins: http://erlandplugins.googlecode.com/...runk/alpha.xml
    2. Uninstall Custom Scan and reboot the server
    3. Reinstall Custom Scan (this should now install the stable version)

Can you enable "debug" level logging of "plugin.customscan" and "plugin.trackstat" and post the server.log after the server is accessible after a restart, this should show if the refresh operations are executed and also how long time each part of it takes. Theoretically it could also be Custom Browse that's causing the delays but the intention is that this should only happen after a new version of Custom Browse is installed as it then have to re-parse all configuration files.

Out of curiosity I tried to download Squeeze Display from Google Play Store to my Android phone (running 2.3). However, try as I might it doesn't appear in the store when searching on my phone. Is there some regional or technical limitation (e.g. for larger screen tablets only)?

I'm sure I can download it to my PC and install to my phone from there, but I've not had to do that before with any other applications.

    Trackstat Music IP Integration

Erland, in your wiki under Trackstat / Music IP Integration, there is "Export of ratings, play counts and played time for all tracks in SqueezeCenter. " and " The import/export functionality is found under the Custom Scan menu inside SqueezeCenter Settings in the web interface. "
Is there any documentation available without installing the Custom Scan plugin ?
I cannot find any mention of Music IP Integration in the entry in your wiki for Custom Scan.

    Thanks for the reply.

LMS is run under Win XP. I do not think there is an automatic scan option and the autoscan plugin is not installed. I have set the scan timer to do a nightly scan.

    I executed the SQL query.

I did as you said and installed the release version of Custom Scan (v.2.9-3834).

    I enabled logging.

But now, after installing the release version of Custom Scan, the startup was fast, just a minute or so. And the scanning... messages are gone.

    All seems well. Thanks!

Since the log file contains a lot of error messages, at least some seemingly related to you plugins, I attach it anyway.

The MusicIP integration is actually part of the TrackStat plugin it's just that it uses the Custom Scan user interface and underlying logic to manage the import/export automatically or manually. Might be a bit confusing that it's provided by TrackStat from a user perspective but it makes sense when looking at the underlying logic.

There is some documentation on the TrackStat page:
    http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.ph...IP_integration
There is also some information in the tutorial page for setting up rating support in SBS/LMS
    http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.ph...rating_storage

If you are wondering about something not mentioned in the above pages, just ask here or in a separate thread in the 3rd party software section.

    Ok that's good.

Thanks, will take a look and see if I can find some bugs to correct based on it :-)

However, the "database disk image is malformed" coming from Multi Library plugin definitely sounds very bad, so I would keep an eye if Multi Library plugin stops working properly or if you start to get these messages also from other plugins. I suspect the Multi Library libraries won't be updated at the moment as long as you get these errors. I've sometimes got malformed database errors in my development setup but it has always been caused by my killing SBS/LMS abruptly instead of shutting it down nicely.

Unfortunately, I don't really have a good solution to solve it, buy some ideas follows below:
    1. The first thing I would try is to restart LMS and then goto Extras/Multi Library and hit the "refresh libraries" link and look in the log if it produce an error afterwards.
    2. Make sure your disk isn't full, because a full disk at the wrong time could probably result in issues like this
    3. The solution I'm fairly sure works is to shutdown LMS, delete persist.db file and start LMS. But deleting persist.db will also delete all TrackStat data and Custom Scan data, so afterwards you will have to restore a TrackStat backup (if you are using TrackStat) and perform a rescan with Custom Scan (if you are using Custom Scan).

Do you know if you have shutdown/killed LMS abruptly or done anything else that could have caused this issue ?

I have done several reboots so it is possible I have behaved badly against LMS. Since I am streamlining my setup for performance reasons, I may just disable MultiLibrary which I do not normally use actively. Risking the CustomScan data that I have managed to get into the persistent database is in any case not an option. Although I cannot check at the moment, there should not be any run out of disc space problems.

Just some information since some people using my plugins/applets are likely going to wonder what the new UE Smart Radio device released and Logitech's decision to stop selling the Squeezebox branded devices means.

    1.
As mentioned in the following posts Logitech will at least in the near future keep maintaining and supporting both LMS and mysqueezebox.com as we know them:
    http://forums.slimdevices.com/showth...l=1#post714311
    http://forums.slimdevices.com/showth...l=1#post714321

    2.
If Logitech introduce less changes in LMS is generally means that I have to spend less time adapting the plugins/applets to LMS changes and thus get more time over to implement new features.

    3.
My Squeezebox system works great and at the moment I don't have any plans to change my Squeezebox hardware to something else, this also means that I have a need for all my plugins/applets to keep working in my own system and thanks to this you can be sure they are actively maintained also in the future.

    4.
If you aren't sure how long you will continue using your Squeezebox you have the option to purchase a one year license to the plugins/applets instead of an unlimited license. I will of course still appreciate people that purchase an unlimited license and I'll consider that to be a sign that you, in the same way as me, want to keep using your Squeezebox hardware also in the future, either with Logitech supported software/firmware or with software/firmware provided by someone else.

    5.
I haven't yet taken a closer look at the "UE Music Library" software that will be the UE Smart Radio device server instead of "LMS". As I've understood there might be possibilities that it can support some types of third party plugins and depending on how much work it will need I'll consider adapting some of my plugins to "UE Music Library" server if there is an interest, if this is something you are interested in please let me know.

Erland - Thanks for letting us know on this thread.

For my part I'll buy another Touch whilst I can still find one and put it away. I'd hope to keep my current setup running for several years if I can.
