Erland-- I'm having a problem with Custom Scan and Squeezebox Server 7.4. When I scan for new items only, the automatic Custom Scan hangs up and doesn't pick up the required information on the new songs. The regular scan itself picks up the new songs, but I don't get the additional Custom Scan tags and Custom Scan continues to indicate that it is running until I abort it. Custom Scan runs fine when I do a full rescan. My library has over 97000 songs and I'm running Mac OS 10.6.1. Here's an excerpt from the server log.

Is it reproducible ?
Does it happen every time or just sometimes ?

Could you try to goto the Custom Scan page after scanning has finished and try to start the scanning manually ? Do you get the same problem ?

I also get the following error which seems to be a problem between the TitleSwitcher plugin and MusicInfoScr since 7.4.1 (so that seems to be a different story):

I will start the rescan but than have to leave for work. I will post the result this evening.

You should see entries in the server.log if it can't find any matching track during the restore process.

You can use this page to encode/decode the urls if something is wrong in the search/replace:

Is it just "Most played artists" or does it affect other statistics types or even all statistics types ?

There were only reports in the log for some missing files, which I suppose I have actually changed the file names for. Other than that there was only this warning:

I guess the search and replace was successful then.

Most played albums and Recently/Last played albums works. The options containing artists or genres I tried did not work.

The problem occurred on 3 successive tries. I should have some new material to add to the database in a few days. I'll try the "scan for new" option again and see what happens.

I did try to re-run the scan manually on one occasion. The custom scan ran for several hours and seemed to be stuck about 2/3 of the way through the scan. I have my library spread over 3 hard disks and custom scan picked up nothing on the third disk. This has not happened with any of the automatic scans.

Erland, I enclose now copies of my server.log and scanner.log. I made a manual rescan (clicked on scan all) but the problem is still there. And during the scan (especially at the beginning) the server is almost unresponsive and scanning takes ages.
After performing the scan I clicked on several menu items in the web interface which seems to generate errors in the log file.

Hey Erland,
I'm playing with CustomClock, and it's really cool! I've finally gotten some time to play with stuff, rather than just fix hardware.

I noticed some people really wanting red clock characters, a-la a red LED digital clock.

Could you update custom clock to have a 'Midnight' mode with red characters?

I had one new album to add to my library so did a scan for new items only. Again custom scan kept running and again added the extra tags for everything except the new songs added. The log showed the same message as before about being unable to access a table because it was locked or in use. I aborted the scan and started a manual scan. The manual scan also kept running, after picking up the extra tags from everything except the newly added songs.

I then did a complete rescan followed by an automatic custom scan, and it successfully completed, picking up the extra tags for everything.
