FWIW I've also found the change to 7.01 introduce tons of errors. 2 variables I'm trying to eliminate now are the June Windows security updates (backed them out -- no change) and removing some plug-ins for dynamic playlists & related. Issue? Running on Win2003 server: SC's Working Set memory gradually increases from an initial 80 or so MB to well over 200, and consumes 100% CPU. All response stops, I need to log into the server and restart the SC service. And that takes several minutes since SC is not so nice about yielding back the CPU to let other things like logins occur. Been using this stuff since 6.5 and loved it. 7.0 had a couple of user-induced startup problems but once I nailed those things were pretty good. Since I use wireless I picked up 7.01 and...see above. Hopefully I'll be able to nail prob down to a plug-in, but in the meantime I'm listening to good old radio because it just works.

If so, they're issues to which all my other devices seem amazingly impervious. Somebody needs to tell those products to stop working; they're making the Duet look bad.

Anyway, the good news is that after - yet again - rebooting everything and re-entering all the settings, the Duet does at long last seem to be fully connected. For now. So you can call this a solved problem. (Though if I were Logitech, I'd still want to know what caused it.) My thanks to everyone who tried to help out.
I may off base here but it seems that you add and remove a lot of devices that use network access. I was just wondering if maybe there were some legacy drivers that might be hanging on and messing up the Duets access.
If the rule you followed brought you to this, of what use is the rule.

I've been using various versions of SqueezeBoxes for many years with no problems.

if you look at all the forum sections, you will detect that most of the problems that new users have is with networking. A few folks have problems with anti-virus and anti-malware, and there are scattered other occasional problems, but the biggest cause of frustration is networking.

Sadly, WiFi networking is simply not as simple as the vendors say, and thus its not as simple as most folks thing/wish.

If you are having any networking problems, I suggest you first look at the Wiki section http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/NetworkingGuide
    Networking guide.

And for more complex problems, please see the
    http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/Thar_be_Dragons
guide, which while new, is aimed at catching the majority of more complex problems

When you consider the amount of posts that has something to do with problems with WAPs of one or more particular brand is there a positiv list of WAPs where Logitech has actually tested a setup?

No idea if LogiTech have done it, but it came up in the forum some time ago and the results of users' tests are on the wiki: http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/RouterStatus

It could probably be updated now for specific tests with the Duet....

    No media find.
    connection lost... etc..
I thought that duet was something that would helped me to listen to music easily, but i guess i was wrong...

We are living in a era that consumers pay to be beta testers...
I have a squeezbox and a transporter. Both playing music within minutes after unpacking. I have had no problems what so ever in the 2+ years I'm using this gear. I have a full wired network and have run slimserver/squeezecenter on all kinds of hardware on both Linux and Windows. Again absolutely no problems.

No, I do not own Logitech stocks

That said, I have a love/hate (mostly hate) affair with WiFi. Using a Duet, the remote and the server over WiFi is just asking for trouble if you ask me. If you can not run wires everywere in the house, use powerlan adapters. Really All problems I have seen (by my clients) with this gear, or others like Sonos is network and/or firewall/secuirety settings related.

    jump Next/prev track bug?

    Hi all

I'm a newbie SB3 user, (XP based SlimServer via WIFI) but have got some problems. Sometimes when i'm jump to next track, SB can't do it, go to silence and thinking..and thinking. if i push again the next/prev button, usually getting work properly.
Problem is common or this is a new "feature"?

My Slimserver is a really new but beta version, may this cause problems?

(most of plugins doesn t work with "wrong version of SS" or similar messages. May beta version causes it too?

    P.s. : wifi strenght between 55-68%
    Best Regards

To be a newbie and start on a beta of SC is simply asking for trouble. The plugins have a versionnumber range that they are target to and my guess is that 7.1/7.2 is not in that range they will accept.

Right, but i can't download 7.0 anymore from the official site, only 7.0.1 and other betas can reached.

    Thanks for your fast response
