RipNAS Essentials
RipNAS Essentials™ is an ideal companion to any Windows Home Server (WHS) system [HP MediaSmart, Fujitsu Scaleo, Tranquil PC, etc]. RipNAS adds CD Ripping capabilities to your WHS box (whilst maintaining WHS abilities). Adding new discs to the music network share (for media streaming) is as simple as inserting a CD and waiting a few minutes. Windows Home Server, a Media Streamer [Sonos, Logitech Squeezebox, etc) and RipNAS Essentials™ are all that are required to join the distributed home audio revolution.
Now Live and avaliable for purchase:

Less than 80 euros for software only, the prices are all in USD $.
The Teac drive is not a requirement, especially if your WHS system has a CD drive already, but it is a requirement to activate secure ripping.Spoon- www.dbpoweramp.com

Sounds interesting.
Does this also add Replay Gain tags to the FLAC (and mp3) files?
Is ripping to FLAC and mp3 simultaneously possible?
And last but not least: what is this secure ripping?
Does this mean AccurateRip support is only available with the TEAC drive?
Will there be an (like 30 days, or 10 CDs) limited trial version available to try with my own drive and see the PerfectMeta thing in action?
Will it be possible to by the drive or the secure option later as add-on?
And: where are you shipping from? This is important because of customs fees.

>Does this also add Replay Gain tags to the FLAC (and mp3) files?
Yes, automatically
>Is ripping to FLAC and mp3 simultaneously possible?
Yes

Secure Ripping is the ability to detect and possibly recover errors. AccurateRip support is only on the Teac drives, it cannot configure on a head-less system.
If you want a trial, try dBpoweramp Reference on a normal PC, it will show all the abilities of RipNAS.
>Will it be possible to by the drive or the secure option later as add-on?
We will offer the upgrade to secure (from normal Teac), but not upgrade software to drive.
>And: where are you shipping from? This is important because of customs fees.
There is no customs in Europe or USA (shipped in both of those locations).Spoon- www.dbpoweramp.com

thanks for the response.
One more question:
this TEAC drive. Does it need an external power supply or is it running on USB power?

One more thing.
Updates.
How is the update policy for RipNAS software?
Free minor version upgrades or free upgrades to every release of the SW?
