Fedora - Allienbbc simple install guide.

I'm writing this because there are no simple guides I can find for Fedora. Many of the other guides seemed over complicated - for me anyway.

    Here mine.

The hardest part is mplayer, which other flavours of linux seem to have issues with but this simpler method works every time for me.

Download the source - do not be tempted by the rpm.

    http://www8.mplayerhq.hu/MPlayer/rel...1.0rc2.tar.bz2

download into your /tmp directory and extract.

cd into the mplayer folder and run these commands.

./configure followed by "make" followed by "make install"

finally check that streaming works through mplayer.

    mplayer rtsp://rmlive.bbc.co.uk:554/bbc-rbs/rmlive/ev7/live24/radio4/live/r4_dsat_g2.ra

Now the easy part: download alienbbc and extract into /usr/share/squeezecenter/Plugins and finally make sure the Bin/mplayer.sh can be executed by the squeezecenter .

    Now resstart sqeezecenter

"service squeezecenter restart" hey presto streaming bbc
