Hello,
I just purchased a ReadyNAS Duo and enabled the slimserver on it. Everything works great if I try to access it from a PC with Winamp, but it doesn't work from my Prismiq box. I've searched the forum for info on Prismiq, but I haven't found anything posotive about it. I added the stream link to the radio station bookmarks (http://ip-address:9000/stream.mp3, and I've also added the web interface to the web site bookmarks (http://ip-address:9000). I am able to access the web site with no problems, but No music is played, and the prismiq is not listed as a media device.
Thanks in advance for any help and comments.

ReadyNAS Duo, Prismiq, and Slimserver

I don't know if the SlimServer or SqueezeCenter builds that Infrant/Netgear produce for the ReadyNAS include LAME or not. This is required to produce the web stream from the server.
You might be best to ask this over on the ReadyNAS forums. http://www.readynas.com/forum/

Thanks for your reply. Just a quick question before I move on to the readynas forum. The fact that I can play a stream from winamp doesn't confirm that the web stream is installed?

I think I need to stop replying to threads tonight. this is the second reply I hvae messed up with regards to stream.mp3

Yeah, you are right, if you can play through WinAmp then yes LAME in included (there certainally was a while where the ReadyNAS build didn't include LAME).
No idea why the Prismiq doesn't work then.

Prismiq and slimserver making love
Ok I got this working. It was very easy. I thought I had followed all of the steps listed in the link below, but there was one major thing I missed. Prismiq needs the Prismiq MediaManager to be installed in order to work work with slimserver. I am so anti-installing software I don't think I would need, that I was trying to get this to work without touching the Prismiq MediaManager CD. Unfortunately this is a must. In any case it works and I'm very happy. Thank you guys for such a great application.
