I use my sny ux280 as my squeezecenter combined with a western digital mybook(1TB). I just measured the power consumption today and it's a constant 18 Watt's. So that's as low as it gets I think.

As low as what gets? Your system or others more generally? At least a few NASs go lower than 18W (eg, LinkStation Pro 750 at 14W).
