I'm up and running with SC7 on my N5200PRO too. A full library scan took around 45mins (>80k tracks). Now I've got to get a few plugins installed and can finally use my iPod Touch w/ iPeng skin to control SC running on the NAS.
Andreas, thanks for your efforts, really appreciated.

I now have SC7 fully up and running on my N5200 and have been putting it through its paces over the weekend.
16,000 FLAC tracks scanned in 42 minutes.
No problems at all with playing music and internet radio stations.
Like the previous SlimServer 6.54, streaming didn't work at first, but copying a LAME executable into the BIN folder soon fixed that.
Once again, a sterling job from Andreas :-)
Many thanks.

I don't want to overload the N5200 modules, so could someone suggest the best module to use for getting plugins across to the SC?

You can install as many modules as you fancy, there is no need to have them enabled though unless you need them, this way the only thing they're occupying is disk space until you enable them.
To get plugins onto the Thecus you will need to install the SYSUSER and SSHD modules and enable them (but only when you need them).
If you've installed the SC7 module and not modified any of its defaults (and left the N5200 IP as 192.168.168.100), then the following should be of assistance (assuming you're running Linux):
To install the iPeng skin:
type the following from a terminal window (assumes you've unzipped the iPeng download archive):To install a plugin, the copy to path on the NAS is /raid/data/module/SQUEEZECENTER/squeezecenter/Plugins.Code:scp -r /PathToUnzippediPeng/iPeng/* sys@192.168.168.100:/raid/data/module/SQUEEZECENTER/squeezecenter/HTML/iPeng
To install the LazySearch2 plugin:
type the following from a terminal window (assumes you've unzipped the LazySearch2 download archive):Code:scp -r /PathToUnzippedLazySearch2/LazySearch2/* sys@192.168.168.100:/raid/data/module/SQUEEZECENTER/squeezecenter/Plugins

Just doing a complete rescan from both my ubuntu SC7 and the N5200. The ubuntu SC7 points to a drive that mounts the music folder on the N52000, albeit via MusicIP. Strangely ubuntu says there are 12346 tracks N5200 says 12344. Any ideas as to how the find the cause of the difference?

I've never had two versions of slimserver report the same library stats, so don't expect SC7 would be any different. In this case it may be that there are "old" track references in your MiP database? For two tracks I wouldn't worry about it at all.
One thing I do want to try is to see if I can install MiP headless on the NAS. That would be really handy

Does seem to be a big jump doesn't it (5X approx) ?
And my N5200 has had its memory upgraded to 512Mb as well.
I must admit I was quite happy with my 16000 tracks in 42 minutes.
That is until I saw your 85.7K tracks in the same time :-)
Oh well ... too early to upgrade to a PRO yet.
I'll think I will wait for the N5300 or whatever the successor is called :-)
