My playlists all have disappeared in Slimserver. I'm using Itunes playlists and also some i created in Slim and none of them are showingup. they are in the directory that I have Slimserver set to, but not showing up. I cleared and rescanned everything and upgraded to the latest version and still nothing. Also, i don't see an option anymore for how often i want to rescan the library. Any ideas?

Try rescanning only the playlists.

That was the first thing I tried. i'm pretty stumped. I'm thinking about removing Slimserver from my PC and starting from scratch. I've been using SS for quite some time ( a year and a half plus)with no issues.

Any other thoughts? Also, the displays on both Squeezeboxes are blank now when they're powered off. It's not the brightness button. Also date and time is checked off in settings wehn powered off. Lots of weird things are happening.

You don't give much information about your system - XP, Mac, Linux, Slimserver 6.5.x or Squeezecenter 7.0?
Itunes Playlists can be a bit tricky sometimes with Slimserver. It's important to check you have the right itunes .xml file input into Slimserver. There's a few other suggestions in the wiki here (about half way down).
Also, have you seen this pretty much identical thread:

Finally, here is a list of some other threads that may be useful. http://forums.slimdevices.com/search...earchid=994616
Most questions have been asked and answered a number of times, so a search is always a good idea:

I got fed up so i just deleted Slim Server from my PC, reinstalled and rescanned everything and it's all back to normal. Very strange.

Good to know you got it sorted.
Running SS from the command line (as suggested in one of the threads I linked to) might well had the same effect as the uninstall/reinstall, if you ever find it happens again.
