Hello! I'm a new transporter owner (and a happy one at that) but I'd really like to customize the display information. I've been playing around with the MusicInfoScr plug in and can't figure out exactly how it works. (I'm using sever v6.5 and MIS 3.5)
Can some give me some setup guidelines? On the left hand display I'd like to display in large font the artist. On the right side I'd like two equal sized fonts, top line displays Album, bottom line displays the Title.
I can't figure any of it out!
Thanks for help!
Jonathan

Hi Jonathan,
I don't think you can have different sizes on the left and right display. It's always the same on both displays.
Concerning the way how to configure the displays. I have separated this in two steps,
1. define the "Display Format" - if there's not the one available you'd like
2. assign the format to the different positions on the display, using the MusicInfoSRC (click on the position, i.e top left, top middle, top right, bottom left, bottom middle, bottom right, and assign the format, i.e artist, album,...
I've attached a screenshot from my settings page for better illustration.
...ups: while re-reading your questions, as i'm running version 7 you'd have to "translate" the screenshot to your version 6.5 - it looks different and doesn't have all those features, but basically the way doing it is the same. Or you could upgrade to version 7 ;-)
kind regards,
Markus

Thanks Markus.
Have you ever had the feeling like you're just not getting the whole picture? 'Cause that's what I'm getting right now. I've never seen that setup screen you have (I am running v6.5 not 7)
I've been using the slimserver webpage on my browser to control things - what is the SqueezeCenter thing you show?
I'm going to give myself the Duh award for the day.
Thanks again for the help,
Jonathan

No no, that's been available for a long time. In SC7 you can even select the font size for every single element (if you like).

Can you explain how please? I can't see an option beyond two lines or one line of large text.

You'll have to enable custom font settings. Or rather disable "Use SqueezeCenter's font size setting".

Thanks Michael - things are looking much better!
I don't suppose this next question is specific to MusicInfoScr but is there any way of getting other tag fields into the display? For example, in my vast collection of classical music, I'd like to be able to display the performer or album artist fields.
Thanks,
Jonathan

You can add them in Settings/Interface: it's a bit cumbersome, but you can
add those tags to the list of title formats, one by one (enter tag name,
Apply, next).
