Question "WAF" of UK Stations is now Nil

As above - the fact that it is almost impossible to receive any popular UK London radio stations means WAF is now nil.

This is a major blow as I have 3 wireless Squeezeboxes and I really want to install a whole house wired network but I can't until WAF is a little higher than nil.

Is there any way I can get the following stations to work on SB3's with squeeznetwork and/or SC7?

    LBC
    BBC 1 & 2
    Capital Radio 95.8
    Kiss 100
    Magic 105.4
    Heart 106.2
    Smooth 102.2
    Invicta 103.1

    Thanks for looking. Simon

I assume you are not in the UK.

To receive BBC radio 1,2,3&4 outside the UK - use SC7 with AlienBBC plugin.

Looking through RadioTime I could also easily find Capital, Heart and Invicta

    Internet Radio->RadioTime->Browse by Location->Europe->United Kingdom->London->

Part of the problem is that a number of internet radio stations are moving to a proprietory streaming format (google StreamtheWorld for example) - which is designed to stop you from listening to streams via things like the SB, and make you visit an ad-supported webpage. Not much that Slim Devices can do about this. Smooth FM is one that moved to a proprietory format last year when it rebranded

    However, have you tried:

for LBC listen live? Always used to work for me on the SB and on Squeezenetwork. There is a 10 second "Listen Again" broadcast at the beginning, but it's the live stream that comes out.

Just wanted to say thanks for the replies.

I have successfully added a number of favourites that now work great (having done a SB reset). Several stations are not having it still - "not enough bandwidth/freezing while buffering/recorded message saying not available"

    WAF now about 60%!

If you are getting the stations, but having buffering problems you can try increasing the radio buffer (Settings > Advanced > Network). The recorded message is a bit weird though.

Not sure if this will help your cause, but might want to check this posting:
    http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=43351

I've successfully used to listen to Irish radio stations, but haven't tried w/UK stations.

I am using with Slimserver 6.5.4.
