Hi, I have just successfully installed Ubuntu 7.10 Server edition on a new Mini-ITX headless server. I have managed to get SC7 up and running and I am able to connect to it with my SB3 and SoftSqueeze (from my Windoze laptop).
However I am unable to connect to SqueezeNetwork. Anytime I try to update the SN username/password settings in the SC7 settings it says it can't find my login information. But I am able to connect to SN from a normal web browser on my laptop.
The Ubuntu server can definitly see the internet - I have been downloading packages etc and installing them all day.
Is there anything I am missing here? I am new to Linux so be gentle!

I seem to recall seeing a message or wiki entry that mentions that the SC7 link to the squeezenetwork is using a new instance of the squeezenetwork not the same one as the SC6/squeezebox normally look for. The user accounts are completely separate (at the moment).
I believe you have to create a new account on the SC7 version. Later they will copy the account info over.
Sorry I can't point you at any message/link but have a search.

Yeah - I saw that as well - but I previously had SC7 installed on my Window box and was able to connect to SN no problem with my existing login details. There is actually an option in the SC7 settings when configuring SN to select the old PROD SN server or the new BETA server. I have tried both.
BTW - I have been (and am continuing to) searching the forums for help on this. Thanks for your prompt response!

Again from memory but the Old production server isn't the SC6ish servers but a separate SC7 version and the Beta server is the Beta server.
They are building a new Squeezenetwork infrastructure and pointed the SC7 Old network at it for testing (so the info may be in the developer forums) with the Beta still pointed at beta.
When they are happy with it I believe they intended to migrate all the accounts from the current network onto the New SC7 network and have everyone connect there. The the Old SC7 and Beta would be as expected.
It may be that when you first tried it they hadn't done this but now that's why you get the no account message.

Awesome - thanks Zaragon. That has cleared things up a bit. And I have now managed to get it connecting after creating a new account on the appropriate server. Thanks for your patience!
