Looks like it could be (black casework, copper chassis) but it's not.

It's a bespoke 300B SET power amp I had built for me by UK valve design guru Nick Gorham.
Nick runs a big DIY valve forum and a lot of the resident experts pitched on its power supply design.
It's a bit different as its 300B SET, but with (truly) state of the art solid-state regulation.
The handwound output transformers were most of the amps cost!

The Transporter sounds a wee bit good through it.

Wash your mouth out with soap!
Icon Audio amps perpetuate the clichés about valve amplification. I have yet to hear one that sounded good.
They don't have the capability to conceive of, let alone build the amplifier pictured.
    Chris :)

Soooo....it's one of those secret amps whose name can't be spoken?

    It's no secret at all.
It's a one off custom build affair from the man behind Longdog Audio.
It's a 300B SET, but it uses state of the art solid state power regulation. Consequently the amplifier has drive capabilities well beyond those of other 300B SET amplifiers.

It's the best 300B SET amplifier I have ever heard, and I have heard a few.
    Chris :)

    Hi Gaz

    Small world indeed.
I'm pleased your amp is still hitting the spot for you. I know Nick is pleased with the way it turned out.
    Chris :)
